Group Hypnotherapy
Group hypnotherapy can be in-person or online - many people believe hypnotherapy must be undertake in person, but this isn't the case. Solution-focused hypnotherapy can be effectively conducted online, offering greater accessibility for those unable to attend in-person sessions. It became especially popular during the COVID-19 pandemic and remains a convenient option for many.

With online hypnotherapy, you can connect with me from most locations around the world (with some restrictions). This flexibility allows you to choose a hypnotherapist that fits your needs, rather than being limited by proximity. Specialising in helping individuals with chronic health issues and pain, I work with clients from various regions who seek my support. Whether you travel frequently, have difficulty leaving home, caregiving responsibilities, or other limitations, online hypnotherapy can be a suitable solution.

For sessions, it’s essential to be in a quiet, private space free from interruptions. When we begin the hypnotherapy portion of the session, ensure you are comfortable—either lying down or sitting with your legs up and head supported. Your device should be on a stable surface (not on your lap, as it may move when you relax) so I can see you clearly. A good Wi-Fi connection is also important for a smooth experience.
Advantages of Group Hypnotherapy
Social learning and belief reinforcement
Participating in a group allows individuals to observe and learn from the experiences and successes of others. Seeing peers overcome similar challenges reinforces the belief that personal growth is possible and attainable for everyone.
Normalisation of shared experiences
Hearing others share similar struggles can be profoundly validating. It helps individuals recognize that their difficulties are part of the human experience, reducing feelings of isolation or "being different."
Increased motivation through group energy
The collective energy and enthusiasm of a supportive group can boost each participant’s motivation and commitment. Group members naturally uplift each other, creating momentum that often leads to faster and more lasting progress.
Greater self-efficacy and shared progress
As participants move through their journeys together, they often develop a stronger sense of personal empowerment (self-efficacy). Witnessing and celebrating the progress of others fosters a deeper belief in one's own ability to succeed.
Practical benefits
Group settings can offer practical support such as structured sessions, peer accountability, and the opportunity to practice new skills in a safe, encouraging environment. Participants can also benefit from shared tips, strategies, and encouragement that enrich the learning process.
Cost-effective
Group hypnotherapy is often more affordable than individual sessions, making therapeutic support accessible to more people. This allows individuals to access high-quality support regularly without the financial barrier of private one-on-one sessions.
Group Hypnotherapy FAQ's
What is group hypnotherapy?
Group hypnotherapy involves guided hypnosis sessions conducted with several participants at once. Each person works on their own individual goals while benefiting from the supportive and motivating group environment.

How is group hypnotherapy different from one-to-one hypnotherapy?
In one-to-one sessions, the therapy is tailored specifically to an individual’s unique circumstances. In a group setting, the session is designed around a common theme (such as stress management, confidence building, or weight loss), with shared exercises and hypnosis designed to benefit all participants.

Will I still get individual attention in a group session?
While the focus is on the group, there is often an opportunity for brief individual check-ins or reflections. However, if you require intensive personalized work, private sessions may also be recommended alongside group participation.

What issues can group hypnotherapy help with?
Group hypnotherapy is effective for a wide range of issues including stress and anxiety management, building confidence, habit change (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management), motivation enhancement, and emotional resilience.

Do I have to share personal information with the group?
No. You are encouraged to share only what you feel comfortable disclosing. Group hypnotherapy respects your privacy, and it’s perfectly fine to participate quietly without speaking about personal matters.

Can anyone join a group hypnotherapy session?
Most people can benefit from group hypnotherapy. However, certain mental health conditions (such as severe dissociation, active psychosis, or untreated trauma) may require a more tailored one-on-one therapeutic approach. A brief pre-screening or consultation may be requested before joining.

What happens during a typical solution-focussed group hypnotherapy session?
Sessions usually begin with a welcome and icebreaker, followed by psychoeducation in relation to the brain relevant to the theme of the session. This is followed by goal setting and then guided trance. The session ends with reflection/feedback.

What if I can’t be hypnotised?
Everyone can experience some level of hypnotic state — it's simply a natural state of focused attention. If you are willing to relax and follow the instructions, you are likely to benefit, even if your experience feels light or different than expected.

How should I prepare for a group session?
Wear comfortable clothing, have water available, and arrive with an open mind. It's helpful to think about what you would like to achieve, but you don't need to have a clear goal — simply a willingness to engage is enough.

Is group hypnotherapy safe?
Yes, hypnotherapy is a safe, well-established therapeutic approach when led by a qualified practitioner. You always remain in control and cannot be made to do anything against your will.

What are the group sizes?
This can vary, but at KPCH we try to keep them to a maximum of 6 people.

What is the time commitment?
6 x weekly 1-hour online (zoom) sessions (missed sessions are payable from the advanced payment)

How Much Does It Cost?
